Snapdragon kat leyh book 25/10/2023 The story really took off when the truth about Jacks’ identity and her life was revealed, and her surprising connection to Snap’s family. Snapdragon by Kat Leyh was one that I ended up getting and it certainly delivered.Īt first it didn’t seem like it was going to be very witchy Jacks turns out to be a chill older woman (who is very cool, don’t get me wrong) and the main character, Snap (short for Snapdragon) takes an interest in her as a means of getting out of the house and finding something to do. I mentioned in a previous post that I was looking for fun, witchy graphic novels for fall. This graphic novel really surprised me, in the best way. But as Snap starts to get to know Jacks, she realizes that Jacks may in fact have real magic–and a connection with Snap’s family’s past.” They make a deal: Jacks will teach Snap how to take care of the baby opossums that Snap rescued, and Snap will help Jacks with her work. It’s creepy, sure, but Snap thinks it’s kind of cool, too. But in reality, Jacks is just a crocks-wearing, internet-savvy old lady who sells roadkill skeletons online–after doing a little ritual to put their spirits to rest.
